Kalmar Races

It was a busy day on the river, September 26th. Advantage Wilmington was hosting participants from businesses and organizations around Wilmington at the Chase Center on the Riverfront. The featured speaker, Bill Rancic, the winner from the first season of The Apprentice, was an inspiration to all with his up beat attitude and positive messages. A 5k race was taking place to benefit Planned Parenthood the River Taxi was running and the Kalmar Races were underway. Participants included: Mitchell Associates, The City of Wilmington, Buccini Pollin, DuPont, Werb & Sullivan, Christiana Hilton, and Prudential, Fox & Roach. With only 5 hours of practice under their belts, our team finished third out of 7. Members of the team included Bob Agosta, Amy Jo Reiner, Darcy Borden, Meredith Blackney, Mike Amici, Nancy Jamali, John Trincia, Danielle Pifano, Angela Rosini, and the coach Don Verdiani. Mitchell employees cheered the team on as they rowed vigorously, and even with some technical difficulties, managed to capture the bronze.
