Mitchell Joins USGBC and works toward LEED Certification Going green is what is right these days. For a better and longer future, we need to not only go green in our daily habits, but also in where we live, work and learn each day. Our staff at Mitchell Associates has become a member of the U.S. Green Build Council and is currently preparing for LEED certification by the USGBC. There are three areas of certification, which include Commercial, Existing Buildings and New Construction. Mitchell plans to have designers certified through out each of the disciplines. With that we will be able to properly select and specify sustainable materials in the design of all of the interiors and exteriors we work on. As long as the client is going green so are we, and as designers, it is our job to show clients the value of using sustainable materials, and working learning and living in sustainable environments. It is our job to prove to them the benefits of a LEED certified building, on all levels, now and in years to come.
